Recollection of Pat Anslow shared by Grazyna Anslow in a WhatsApp message to CCT on 2025-0517: "My wife Grazyna and I were privileged to make a number of Puja crowns for Shri Mataji in the 1980's. We were already making chakra charts for public meetings and while looking at the posters of Deities we desired to adorn the Goddess with a similar crown. The first crown we made for Navaratri puja 1982 was appreciated by Shri Mataji very much so we were asked by the collective to continue making crowns for a number of pujas. It was a particularly blessed responsibility which filled us with joy throughout the creative process, and culminated in indescribably profound moments of awe and absolute fulfilment as Shri Mataji wore the crown at each Puja. I would begin by searching for traditional images of the Goddess in books, magazines and museums, etc., sketching, meditating and trying to refine images of the crowns I found and consulting with Grazyna until we agreed on a design. In those days in London yogis had little money which limited the materials we could use to cardboard, fabric, glue, costume jewellery, sequins, etc. Grazyna then took over a lot of the work of actually making the crown, finding the materials and experimenting and adjusting the crown as she went on. We were both working and looking after children so each crown took a lot of work over many days, and was often still being finished late in the night before a Puja. It made those Pujas absolutely unique for us."
