Grey clouds were covering the Windy City of Chicago,
Keeping the Light of the Spirit away from the seekers' hearts.
The Lake, the Earth, Air and Fire, together with the Angels,
Joined their forces to dispel the clouds of ignorance
And purify the battlefield. The fight went on without respite,
Till the blessed day You came, Oh Mother,
In the form of Jagadamba, to rescue all Your children.

From the day when Your Foot touched its ground,
The city has rejoiced in the blessings of Your Protection.
For two days and nights You gave a fierce battle
To all our fears and our worries and our foes.
Incessantly You fought with alt Your blazing weapons.
And Your Sudarshan Chakra was doom to all the evil forces.
They were consumed by the fire of Your Tapasya
And Your Light of Compassion and of Pure Love pervaded everything,
Shining like a thousand suns on the shores of the Windy City.

White-purple clouds are now enjoying themselves in the sky
While the Wind of the Holy Spirit gently blows over the city.
The Lake, the Earth, Air and Fire, together with the Angels,
Have joined their hands in a dance celebrating Your Victory.
The flowers have absorbed the fragrance of Your Presence
And are joyfully giving it back to everyone.
Oh Mother, the Nature is so beautiful now, here in the Windy City,
The Angels, the Elements and all Your children
Are filed with the joy of exalted expectation
As we humbly await and pray that You grace is again with Your Darshan
Oh Mother, the Windy City is longing for the touch.
