1996-0000 Poem ‘She walks’ by Heidi Stonier, New York from 1996-0000 Sudarshan, Spring Review, Page 12
She walks
I sit and gaze unblinking into the fire
She burns
I lay silent in my still bed listening
She sings I turn my head to the mirror
She reflects I absorb
She does all this for me I bow
She knows I doubt
She forgives I cry in my bed like a small child
She lifts me up I am down She is old I am young
She walks though Her body aches
She walks and walks She is here for us all
She roars I open my mouth to speak words come slowly
She passes leaving the smell of flowers
I follow I pick up mu words like flowers stumbling in Her wake
She walks.
She loves I yearn She shows
I learn little by little
I walk behind Her Until the day
I walk beside Her.
